Bridal Make Up

You’ve got the dress and picked the shoes, there’s only a little bit more to get done before you’re ready-your hair and make-up.
Decide what look you want to go for at least a week before your big day-this way you can practice getting it perfect if you’re doing your own make-up and will know exactly what products you need.

To look perfect on your wedding day only accentuate one feature. Wearing both heavy eye and lip make-up will make you look more like a clown than a princess. Here’s a quick guide to how do achieve certain looks for your big day:

Start off by applying a primer to your eye lids. If you don’t have a eyeshadow primer, try an oil-free foundation or concealer – this will help keep the colours looking strong, making sure that you’re smoky eyes will last a lot longer.

Using a black or dark brown eye liner, line your top lid from the inner corner to the outer corner of your eye. Do the same with your bottom lash line too. Using a cotton bud swab, or a sponge eyeshadow applicator, slightly smudge the eyeliner.

Using an eyeshadow brush, softly apply black eyeshadow on top of the eyeliner applied in step 2.

Apply a dark grey (or brown) eyeshadow to the rest of your eyelid. Start from the inner corner and work your way up and around the crease of your eyelid, ending just under your brow bone. When you close your eyes it should look like you have applied your eyeshadow in an oval shape. Large compacts usually come with many shades of the same colours, you can try to mix different colours to find your perfect shade!

You can now clean up any eyeliner that has fallen under your bottom lash lines (you’d be surprised at how easily this is done!) and apply concealer to cover up any blemishes such as dark circles or bags under your eyes.

As you did in step 3, apply black eyeshadow over the eyeliner on your bottom lid.

The final step is to apply lashings of black mascara to make your eyes pop. And you’re done!

-Don’t worry if you smudge your eyeliner too much-the more smudged the better the effect! -When applying your eyeshadow apply several thin layers rather than one thick layer. Check how your eyes look in-between each coat, this way you won’t end up putting on too much eyeshadow. -Don’t apply any concealer around your eyes before doing your make up – loose eyeshadow tends to fall when applied, so you’ll end up with eyeshadow on the area that you’ve just applied concealer on. -Apply you blusher before doing your eye make-up, as without the blusher your eyes will look less dramatic.
