Displaying pictures of the bride and groom as a cute babies, a young couple with the funny outdated hair do’s and the cringe worthy teenage years make the guests laugh and can help strike up conversations with other guests they do not know, helping to create a relaxed, calm environment.
Table Arrangements
Many couples; whilst still wanting a sit down meal for the reception now want a refreshing, relaxed feel for the guests at the same time. Table arrangement is imperative for every reception venue, with the correct use of colour and décor, guests feel extra special and excited about where they are sitting. Having fun items encourage guests to interact with one another. Chocolate fountains with marshmallows, fun cupcakes, sprinkles, little bags of sweets, confetti and unique name places can help lighten up the stuffiness of a sit down meal. Special centre pieces are also popular how about a lollypop tree, or a real mini tree with fairy lights! Special wedding colouring in books for the kids supplied with crayons can take away some of the boredom which can often strike the little ones. How about a little gift for each guest too?
Outside Weddings
If the UK weather holds up then why not indulge in an outside wedding? There are many beautiful marquees now available online from very reasonable prices. There are arrays of food stalls to fill each marquee from sweet stalls, to cake stands; to chocolate tables the list is endless. Give your outside reception a vintage, carnivalesque feel with colourful bunting, confetti and balloons in all shapes and sizes. You could even rent an ice cream van or a local food truck providing hot food like good old fashioned British fish and chips for all your guests. Why not spoil yourself with a DIY Drink stand? Endless unlimited coke for the kids…whilst perhaps something stronger for the adults?
Fairy and solar lights and lanterns in the bushes, trees and ground or candles in old jam jars would help created a magical feel as dusk approaches.
Guests get to take off their heels, undo that top button, whilst children run and play. Why not hire a kids entertainer or magician to keep them mesmerised for hours whilst colourful picnic blankets are laid down for guests to relax. Play outside games such as bobbing apples or musical chairs. Tissue paper and ribbon bows draped around the marquees will give it a mystical feel like no other as the sun sets on your enjoyable day.
